About

My name is Mikko, I’m a video journalist and reporter from Zurich, Switzerland with a passion for photography. So whether through photo or video—visual storytelling is my thing. On my website, you can get an impression of both.

Photography

Most of my photography happens while I’m traveling and focuses on the side of the world that isn’t “shiny” or “perfect”. I love exploring those parts of a city that most visitors avoid—industrial areas or working-class neighborhoods—or wandering through desolate landscapes. I’m drawn to things like worn-out cars, faded street art, and ordinary people going about their day. I want to show that there is something genuinely compelling, and even beautiful, in the grit and the overlooked. I hope this comes across in my photographs.

In my shop, you can order prints of selected photographs and posters that I’ve created.

Video Journalism

While I enjoy devoting my free time to photography, journalism is my profession. I have worked as a video journalist and reporter for the Swiss newspaper “20 Minuten” and the local television station “Tele Top”, covering everything from fast breaking news to stories where I could take more time to look behind the scenes.
